Born on 12 March 2019 as an Instagram/Photography project, RetroAffaire has grown into a digital cabinet of curiosities: a celebration of retro games, vintage tech, analogue photography, Japanese pop culture, and everything that made the past feel like the future. You can now find RetroAffaire on:
What is RetroAffaire?
Behind RetroAffaire is one collector, based in the UK, who has been hunting down retro hardware, games and Japanese pop culture since the late 80s, first as a kid with a Master System, then across flea markets in Italy, akihabara backstreets and online auctions. Everything featured on this site is part of my personal collection: every machine is photographed, restored and tested by me.

- Anime, manga, figures, super robots, vintage toys and music from a time when imagination and boredom ruled

- Apple computers and devices, PDAs (remember those?), vintage laptops, obscure Japanese stuff that maybe I found in Osaka 20 years ago

- An analogue soul in love with digital devices.
Who runs RetroAffaire?
No one knows for sure. A shadow in the glow of a CRT, a collector of pixels and dust, a time traveller between decades.
They just call themselves RetroAffaire, in love with retro, retro lovers, or retro… definitions of affaire: noun, a usually secretive or illicit sexual relationship. Synonyms: affair, amour, intimacy, involvement, liaison. Others whisper they live somewhere between VHS static and the startup sound of Windows 95.
Let’s just say, like Batman and Superman, only a few know the truth.
The Spirit of RetroAffaire
RetroAffaire is about digital and analogue gracefulness, where nostalgia isn’t about the past, but about remembering what made things feel alive.
It’s not a brand. It’s not a company.
It’s an affaire with time itself.
